Samsung launches company-wide “AI Transformation” initiative to increase productivity

Samsung is launching a company-wide AI initiative aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into daily operations across its businesses.

Announced on June 9, 2026, the program, called “AI Transformation” (AX), will introduce new AI tools, employee training programs, and dedicated AI teams throughout the Samsung Group. The effort is designed to increase productivity and encourage wider use of AI across the company’s operations.

As part of the rollout, Samsung plans to give employees access to external generative AI services, including Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude. The tools will be available across subsidiaries and are expected to support tasks ranging from software development and marketing to manufacturing and business operations.

Training is another major part of the initiative. Samsung aims to provide AI education to its entire workforce of roughly 280,000 employees by the end of 2026.

The company is also starting from the top. Around 50 group presidents will attend a two-day AX Bootcamp at Samsung’s Human Resources Development Institute this month. Senior executives, numbering about 2,300, will take part in separate three-day training sessions, with the first round scheduled to finish by mid-August.

Samsung is expected to unveil a group-wide AX Vision during the leadership training program, outlining how AI will be applied across its businesses. The company also plans to establish dedicated AI departments within each subsidiary to oversee adoption and develop internal expertise.

The move reflects the growing importance of AI across the technology industry, where companies are increasingly looking to automate workflows and improve decision-making. This is one of Samsung’s largest efforts yet to expand AI adoption beyond products and into the way the company itself operates.
