Deals: OnePlus 15R now available, vivo X300 Pro paired with a free Imaging Grip

The prices of some newly-introduced models are falling pretty rapidly, but the newcomers have to contend with older models, which have also gotten quite cheap.

The OnePlus 15R shows up as “coming soon” on Amazon, though it should switch to “available” soon. This year’s R-model brings a massive battery – 7,400mAh vs. 6,000mAh on the 13R – along with improved water resistance (IP68/IP69K vs. IP65). It also features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite), up from the two-year-old Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

There have been some downgrades, however. First, the telephoto camera is gone, while the main camera (50MP 1/1.56”, OIS) and ultra-wide camera (8MP) are the same. Also, the 6.83” display may run at a higher refresh rate (165Hz vs. 120Hz), but it is not an LTPO panel like on the old model. On the plus side, you get a free storage upgrade worth €100 (both the 256GB and 512GB phones sell for €700 right now).

While looking at the 15R, we also need to consider the flagship OnePlus 15. It has some downgrades of its own compared to the 13. However, it’s only €200 more than the 15R, so let’s compare it with that (it has a small €50 discount).

It does have an LTPO display and the proper Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, plus a similarly huge 7,300mAh battery with both 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. And it has a 50MP 3.5x/80mm periscope on board.

Of course, with your €700 you can buy a Xiaomi 15T Pro instead. It uses the Dimensity 9400+ chipset (vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 5) and a similar display – a 6.83” panel with 12-bit colors and 144Hz refresh rate (it’s not an LTPO panel either).

The 15T Pro has the better camera setup with a large 50MP main sensor (1/1.31” vs. 1/1.56”), a dedicated 50MP 5x/115mm periscope (vs. none) and a 12MP ultra-wide (vs. 8MP). The Xiaomi phone has a smaller battery, though, 5,500mAh vs. 7,400mAh (90W wired and 50W wireless charging vs. 80W wired only).

A few months ago, we tested the vivo X300 Pro Photography Kit. It’s great, but unfortunately, it’s available only in China for now. However, PGYTECH has an alternative kit, which is priced at €200. Amazon will throw in this kit for free if you buy the vivo X300 Pro – and this is on top of a €100 voucher. The Pro is one of the best camera phones around right now, check our video review for details.

Well, that didn’t take long – the Motorola Edge 70 was €720 just last week. Now you can have one for €525. This Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 powered phone has a slim build (6mm thick, weighing 159g), which leaves little room for battery – the 4,800mAh cell still achieved 13:36h Active Use Score, which is pretty average. At least you get fast wired (68W) and wireless charging (15W). There’s a 6.7” 10-bit 120Hz OLED display on the front and a 50+50MP camera on the back (1/1.56” main plus 120° ultra-wide).

For that kind of money you can have the Poco F8 Pro instead. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite from last year and a comparable 6.59” 12-bit 120Hz display (1156p+ vs. 1220p+ resolution). It does have a 2.5x/60mm telephoto camera with a 50MP sensor, along with the 50MP main (1/1.55”) and 8MP ultra-wide. And it’s not all that slim or light (8mm, 199g), giving it a bigger 6,210mAh battery (17:35h Active Use Score) with 100W wired-only charging.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra price has fallen significantly since the flip foldable’s introduction. It also uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features 50+50MP cameras (1/1.56” main, 122° ultra-wide). The battery is large for this form factor with 4,700mAh capacity (15:10h Active Use Score). It supports 68W wired and 30W wireless charging. The Ultra has a 4” cover display and a 7” inner display.

Here’s a cheap option with a dedicated telephoto camera – the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro has a 50MP 3x/70mm periscope, along with a 50MP main camera (1/1.56”) and an 8MP ultra-wide. It also has a 50MP selfie camera. It has a 6.77” 1080p+ 10-bit 120Hz OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired-only charging. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.

P.S. The Motorola Signature still isn’t available, but if you pre-order one from Motorola.com before Monday, you will receive Moto Buds Loop and a Moto Watch Fit for free (valued at €228).
