Samsung scores record pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8 last week, and then started taking pre-orders for them. The pre-order campaign has already been incredibly successful in India, as Samsung has today revealed that it has taken record numbers of pre-orders for the lineup – 271,000 within the first 72 hours, to be exact.

Last year, it took 15 days to reach the same number of pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7. 45% of pre-orders for the Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8 were from Tier 2 cities and below, which Samsung thinks signifies “massive untapped market potential”. The company also says this reflects “not only the widespread appeal of foldable smartphones but also the shifting consumer landscape, where innovation is no longer confined to metropolitan hubs”.
